orthotics are made from a variety of non-compressible, flexible materials, with the corrective wedging built into the orthotic (intrinsic posting). The intrinsic posting makes the correction more effective, while the flexible materials allow for normal pronatory and supinatory motion of the feet. The decrease in abnormal pronation helps stabilize the ankle, knee, hip, pelvis, and the lower back, as well as the foot.
